Step 2: Invoice with Payment Link

Once you have approved the quote I will send you an invoice with the payment link. I will be in contact with you to go through and finalise your brief i.e. discussing your reference image, colour schemes, lead time and any last bits before we begin.

Step 3: Delivery

I offer the following Delivery options:

1. Courier Delivery to your Door
(for paintings we will need at least 7 days to wait for it to be touch-dry)

2. Collection at my Hout Bay Studio
(collection address and time slots are sent upon completion)

3. Digital Delivery
High quality scan of your artwork is sent via email
(or for very large files via “We-Transfer”).

How long does it all take?

Sketches: +3-4 working days

Standard Oil Paintings: +2-3 Weeks

This does depend on the complexity of the commission as well as current commission “queue”.

If opting for Courier Delivery we will need to add an extra +7 Days for the painting to be touch dry for packaging.

If you have something time sensitive and you would like to check my availability, email me here: info@lisabyhand.com and let’s see what we can do!

Do you do Framing?

All oil paintings will be done on Ready to Hang canvas. For Pencil/Pen portraits I don’t handle framing right now. This is a way for me to provide accessible art. If there is enough interest however, I may look at adding that as an optional extra at some point in the future.

Do you sketch/paint people?

Yes. I don’t just do Pet Portraits! If you are wanting a commission pop me an email here info@lisabyhand.com with your reference image and lets chat.

Do you do revisions?

Whilst I cannot easily “undo” a stroke of paint we can however make small changes if there are elements you would like to add to change over and above the initial brief.

For big changes further along (we are all human and are allowed to change our minds), I can happily do this but it will be an extra cost if it is not within the initial brief.

How long does it take for oil paint to dry?

Paintings are usually touch dry within a week but can take 6 months -> 1 year to fully cure.
